[Techno, House, Electronica]
Tarmo Vannas started out in the local underground dance music scene in
Tallinn, Estonia in the mid-90s. His love for electronic music started
mainly with the now legendary house and techno sounds from the
beginning of the 90s.
Over the years he has been producing and playing mainly house and techno, as well as drum&bass and jungle during the golden years of that era. At the present he's devoting half of his time to professional DJ/production work, while also working as an Art Director at an interactive design boutique.
He hosts a weekly 2-hour radio show TechTribe Essentials featuring exclusive guest mixes from around the globe. The show has been running on various stations already since 2003 and currently found home on Proton Radio, also broadcasted on various other web and FM stations worldwide and available as a podcast on the TechTribe Music website. Hundreds of listeners around the world tune in to his shows every week to check out the latest underground sounds from around the globe.
Tarmo is playing what he feels is the most upfront and developing style of the moment as well as classic sounds that are timeless. At the present his musical direction has evolved into a mixture of sounds varied from deep and dubby to dark and hypnotic - from deep house to dub techno and from tech house to driving techno sounds, with a bit of deep techy dubstep and breakbeats thrown in between, while still keeping things mostly melodic and atmospheric. You can also expect some indie, psychedelic, shoegaze, rock, disco and funk in the mix as well.
